Challenge
Stofflastig in Steinhausen carries a broad, curated range of trendy fabrics, sewing machines and craft supplies — online and in store. It needed clean structure and easy discovery.
Approach
We built a Shopify store that organises the large range clearly — from organic fabrics to sewing machines, yarn and patterns — with consultation and community in mind.
Solution
In 2026 we migrated Stofflastig completely from Magento to Shopify — products, customer accounts and order history, including the multi-store and multi-warehouse structure, with no data loss.
The result is a tailored Shopify theme that brings clear structure to a deep catalogue: sewing machines, fabrics, yarn, patterns, accessories and plotter foils — the fabrics category alone counts over 4,000 items. Filters for price, colour and availability keep the range easy to browse without trimming it down.
Product pages show colour variants as swatch grids — dozens of shades at a glance for yarns like Knitting for Olive — with delivery estimates right next to the price. Customers pay the way Swiss customers like to: TWINT, QR invoice, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna or card.
The store runs Shopify POS: till and online shop share inventory and customer data across multiple warehouses — and orders can sit ready for pickup in the Steinhausen store.
Outcome
The store carries the spirit of the Steinhausen shop online: a curated, personal range that invites browsing. Store and online shop share one inventory and one till — one system instead of two worlds.
And the move from Magento to Shopify has made day-to-day upkeep noticeably easier: the team manages the range, content and promotions on their own.
